I went to pick Brianna up from preschool this morning. I got out, got her from her class, walked back to the car, and tried to put her into the car. I say tried because the side door was locked. No biggie. I walk over to the driver's door to open it and unlock all the doors. But when I went to open the driver's door it was locked. LOCKED...with the keys in the ignition...with the car running...with my phone inside!!! What? How? My car is "smart" meaning it won't lock the driver door once it's open and the car is running. But apparently, it wasn't so smart this morning. I try all the doors and the back end- all locked. Two other people try all the doors- all locked. Uuugghhh!!!
I head back to the house where Brianna goes to Preschool, the teacher is a friend, and ask to use her phone. She let me use her phone to call Ryan, look up AAA, and Roadside assistance, basically commandeer her phone trying to get anyone to come to unlock my car door. Another mom, who graciously waited a few minutes to see if she could help, stuck around until we realized it might be a bit and then offered to take Brianna to her house to play with her son and feed her some lunch. (Thank you, Jaelyn)
No luck with insurance because all the login info is saved on my phone and I don't remember the login or password. The number for AAA has a busy signal every time I call. And I couldn't find a number for Roadside Assistance no matter how hard I looked. Even though I found it right away when Ryan had his car trouble last week. GRRRRRR! I finally get ahold of Ryan, using my friend's phone, which Ryan has no reason to have saved on his phone, so it just looks like some crazy random person calling, so he didn't answer. I talk to him and get the number to the tow company who took care of his car last week. Now that I have a contact, I give them a call and they inform me that it'll be $73 to unlock my door. Sigh! Alright, no other choice.
Brianna is off eating lunch and playing with her friend, so Melissa and I sit and chat until the tow guy shows up. When he arrives, we say hi, he walks over to my car AND OPENS THE DOOR!!! My stupid car finally decided to wise up, realize it had locked itself while running, and so unlock itself. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!? Fortunately, he didn't charge me for the trip and I got two different opportunities to chat with ladies I don't usually get a chance to talk with. Wins all around!

Funny Brianna Story:
Brianna was not excited about leaving her friend's house. I was trying to cheer her up with the things I bought at the store before picking her up from school. I was listing some of the things I thought she'd like, such as MILK. My milkaholic- hates water will only drink milk- girl. She informs me she now hates water and milk.
To see where this was going, I asked her what she DID like to drink. She informs me she liked Dr. Pepper. I tell her Eww because I really don't like Dr. Pepper, then ask her why she likes Dr. Pepper. She said she wants a beard one day and that if she drinks Dr. Pepper she'll be able to have one. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Last night I had Kyra email her teacher in hopes that he could help her with her homework, but to also get a little extra help understanding the material. She went in early to school today to meet with her teacher and together they were able to get her assignments completed AND she understands a little better the material. I love these schools! These teachers bend-over-backward to help, be there before and after school for tutoring, make assignments as accessible as possible online and in class, and work with the kids to give them as many opportunities to turn in work late, but still get some credit. Seriously, teachers need to be paid more!!!
