The New (Super-Wamma-Dine, HD, Flatscreen) TV

As I mentioned in a previous post, we got a new TV for Christmas. After an interesting adventure of how to get it home (we strapped the kids to the roof of the car to make room for the TV to fit in the back seat)! Actually, (if you thought we were serious) we took the TV back to the store, got a gift receipt for the cost of the TV, and repurchased it when we returned home from our local store.

When we got the TV we realized that a new entertainment center was in order. Our old one was VERY old and even more flimsy. The only thing holding it up was the TV. The TV was large enough to fill the spot designated for it, thus keeping it upright.

We have been eying a particular entertainment center from IKEA for a long time, but couldn't justify buying it until now. Thanks to my G-ma McPherson, who gave us some money for Christmas, we were able to buy it when we got home from our trip to Houston.

Here is a picture of the entertainment unit with the TV in it. Isn't the TV nice?!?!?! We absolutely love it! It has such a nice picture that Ryan and I have started playing video games again. (And we aren't big video gamers, so that says A LOT!)

PS- there is only 1/2 inch of clearance between the top of the TV and the entertainment center. Perfect fit, if I do say so myself...and I do!

Here it is with all our videos put away and the electronics hooked up. The lone basket is holding all the power cords and the serge protector. Very handy and very stylish.

We had to put it together after both girls fell asleep and stayed asleep. Thus we didn't start putting it together until 9:00 and after two tense and cranky hours it was done.

We are looking into buying another shelving unit to go on the other side of the entertainment center. Until then, we are still trying to figure out what to do with all of our kids' toys. We thought that maybe we would put them in Kyra's room, but that just seems like a bad idea when nap time rolls around.

Thank you to Mom and Dad McPherson for the most generous gift of a flat screen TV. And Thank you to Grandma McPherson for the generous amount of money you gave us that allowed us to buy our entertainment center.
