I sent my kids to school, in February, in shorts and t-shirts. Why? Because it was 80 degrees out today. It was an amazingly beautiful warm winter day here in Texas. The weather was a bit unusual for this time of year, but not out of the norm. It's weather like this that makes Texas summers worth living through.

I had Joselyn's annual ARD meeting today. She goes to a Speech Therapist (yes, I get the irony) for her articulation- how she says her sounds. She started last year in kindergarten and she's made really good progress. They still have her going and working on some of her sounds, but she is doing so much better. Her skills in class are on grade level, even the sounding out words skills. She is aware of how they are supposed to be said and when she's paying attention, she will take care to say things correctly or correct herself when she says them wrong.

Ryan had a meeting with his psychiatrist to see how he's doing. For the most part, he's doing well. He struggles around 5pm at work and with the chaos at home. Ryan and his doctor feel like it may be a reaction to stress. He needs to go get blood work done, which he's totally excited about. He also seems to have more of an appetite. Unfortunately, this medication can cause weight gain, so he needs to be really careful of how he eats. We also need to get him a therapist to see regularly to monitor his emotions and well being on a more frequent basis.

It is definitely a Texas winter day because everyone seems to be coming down with some bug. We now have Griffin, Joselyn, Layla, and Brianna all coughing. And Griffin had a fever tonight. He's going to stay home tomorrow to rest since he was having trouble staying awake in class and took a little nap once he got home from school. I'll see how the others are doing in the morning and see who else will be joining the sick brigade.
