Layla had a doctor's appointment this morning so she stayed home from school. I asked periodically throughout the morning how her ears were doing. She kept giving me a not good answer each time. Even though it was still bothering her she said it was feeling better to the point where I asked her as we are sitting in the doctor's office waiting room and she said it was fine.
Of course, I'm like it figures she gets better by the time I take her to the doctor. I can't even tell you how many times I've taken my kids into the doctor and by the time their appointment comes they're on the mend or nothing is wrong with them. Anyway, the doctor comes in and we discuss the reason we're there and the fact that she seems to be fine. Other than Tuesday night and a bit Wednesday morning she hasn't looked or acted sick.
The doctor takes a look and Yep, definite ear infection (right ear). The doctor was surprised she wasn't feeling it more by how it looked. She gave Layla a prescription for some antibiotics (apparently her first ever) with an order to take it twice a day for ten days.
This morning also brought Brianna complaining about her ears hurting. So just in case her cold morphed into something the doctor checked her out too. Brianna is just fine. She just has a cold.
Several of us have lingering coughs and such, but hopefully (cross all your fingers and toes) we are on our way to not being sick. Now if the weather would stop being a yo-yo (a beautiful 70-degree day yesterday and today and we're waking up tomorrow with freezing temperatures) maybe, just maybe we can get over whatever crud we each have.
