Poor Layla had to stay home from school today. She was just feeling horrible this morning and looked miserable. I kept asking about her ear to which she replied that it hurts. I tried to get her an appointment to see the doctor today, but they were all booked up except during school pickup time, so we have to wait until tomorrow to see someone. I just kept her on children's Tylenol as she needed it. That means she missed her Valentine's Day party at school. Fortunately, we had Joselyn drop off her Valentine's Day box and cards to Layla's classroom and pick them up at the end of the day. So Layla missed her party, but not the Valentine's exchange.
Brianna is also grossing me out with her cold. When she sneezes she does it through her nose, so snot goes everywhere each time. I plan to take her with me to the doctor's visit for Layla tomorrow and see what's going on with the both of them.
And of course, where do you think my poor sweet sick babies are laying down? Right on top of me. So in a week or so when these posts are incoherent, you'll understand why.

A few weeks back I signed up to donate blood. I thought it was a nice touch to do so on Valentine's day. I had it all worked out that I could drop off Brianna at school, hit the gym for a bit, donate blood, and be able to pick Brianna up from preschool. Welllllll, Brianna's school was canceled because the teacher had to go with her daughter to a music concert in Austin (I think), so I got a babysitter. Which I canceled when I realized how sick Brianna was, I did NOT want to spread that nastiness around, especially since the person I asked has two small kids and is weeks away from delivering her third. Roll around to last night/today when I realize I have not one, but two sick kids at home, no way am I sending them to infect others and a blood donation appointment I really wanted to keep.
Luckily, Ryan was gracious enough to stay home this morning so I can go do that. Despite having a semi-important meeting right during the time I needed to be gone. It all worked out, I was in and out of the "bloodmobile" in 30 minutes. And I absolutely LOVE the guy who drew my blood. He was the same one who drew my blood right before Christmas and other than a needle mark his technique doesn't leave me bruised and looking like a junkie.

To end this crazy day of love, my sweetheart went out to get us a sweet treat. This is the only blizzard that I look forward to. That cold and snow can stay as far away from Texas as possible.
