The kids were home from school for Martin Luther King Day. I’d like to say we had a completely inspiring day filled with “I Have A Dream” and the great work he and others did to further equality and civil rights. But, yeaaaaahhhhh. That totally didn’t happen. The kids did have a good day off of school and we had minimal bickering and troublemaking. Which was good because I was busy decluttering and reorganizing after staying up late watching the Blood Wolf Super Moon Eclipse.
And finally, the lower cabinets- I cleared out appliances we never used, at least haven't used since moving in nearly four-years-ago, which cleared out A LOT of space and reorganized where everything goes. I'm hoping to put the white racks in the pantry to hold our canned veggies and such.
The junk drawer. This was WAAAY overdue and much needed. We couldn't ever find anything in this drawer. Now it's clean and organized. I need to get a couple of baskets, boxes, or containers to really be done with it, but for now, it's a million times better.
Next up- the upper cabinets between the living room and the fridge. For the most part, the left cabinet was a catchall for stuff too big for the junk drawer and a complete waste of space. Now it holds the animal food/treats, first aid, Tupperware/food containers (only the ones with lids), water bottles, and kid dishes. The right side used to hold Tupperware/food containers (with a million useless lids) and first aid (but not organized). I've wanted to put the plates and glasses in this cabinet for a while now, hoping it would make putting the dishes away from the dishwasher a little easier. So far, so good. The cabinet the plates and glasses used to be in will be used as extended pantry space.
