SHOULDA CHARGED THEM

Ryan's car was in the shop all day (more on that in a minute), so my day was basically spent in the car. To get everyone where they needed to be this was my schedule:

  • 5:30am- drive Ryan to work
  • 6:30- back home getting kids up and ready for school
  • 7:15- take Addy, Griffin, Joselyn, and Layla to school
  • 7:45- back home
  • 8:10- take Kyra to school
  • 8:30- back home to get Brianna and me ready for the gym
  • 8:45- drive to the gym
  • 10:00- drive home to change and work on things there
  • 12:00- Brianna and I go out for lunch
  • 2:00- drive to Walmart for a few things
  • 2:45- start to school pick up
  • 4:00- done with school pick up; go get Ryan from work and pick up his car
  • 5:30pm- finally home, except for a quick trip to Kroger since I forgot something at Walmart...like usual, that was all my driving today.
If you were keeping track I spent 5+ hours in the car driving. Too bad I couldn't charge them for the rides. I think I would have made good money. And with all the driving around Brianna took a LOOOOOOONG nap. It could be a long night with her. Wish us luck!!!

Ryan's car, the Nissan Quest, was not having alternator trouble like we thought. There is a belt in most cars that keeps every other belt taut, called the tensioner belt. It is apparently VERY important in keeping your car running and his snapped causing everything it was attached to loosen or come off its tracks in such a way as to stall the engine. Knowing that I'm amazed the tow truck driver was able to maneuver it to a safe spot once he detached it from the truck. $400 later and the car is running again.

Griffin is having some difficulty in school. He's having a hard time concentrating, and he also is struggling to finish his work in class because it's "boring". His teacher called me today to tell me all this. I'm not entirely sure what to do except try to emphasize the importance of education and learning. Even when it's "boring".
