Griffin participated in his Cub Scout Pinewood Derby tonight. He was so excited to have his own car to race. He picked the design- a multimillion-dollar concept designed Lamborghini Egoista. We tried to help him get the rough shape of it in that little pinewood block and I don't think his car turned out too shabby. While he didn't "win," he did have fun and enjoyed racing against the other boys.

The kids are back in school!!!! (I feel like that should have been in all caps...woo hoo!!!) While they may not have enjoyed being in school, it was a really nice quiet day at home. I was able to get some things done today that I've been putting off while the kids were home. Despite not being excited they all had good days.

And more exciting news...Ryan has officially (I say officially because he's been unofficially doing this for over a week now) received a new position at work. While it isn't a "promotion" perse or moneywise, it does put him in a more managerial position. We are also hoping it reduces the number of long, multiweek trips he'll have to take...no more India trips (cross your fingers)!!!! It is quite a change for him. He moves back into a cube, from working in an open collaborative environment. Instead of working as an architect on 2 products with 1 team, he'll be working as an architect on 68 products across 8 teams- he's an architect of architects. He is really excited as this allows for movement upwards within the company, as well as frequently working with those up the chain of command- VPs, Senior VPs, CEO, etc.
