OLD MCZIELKES WENT TO A FARM

A friend of ours- Allie Van Wagner- moved out to the country a couple years ago and I've been thinking about going to see her and her spread for a bit now. She is super wonderful and loving life out on the farm.

Since it's springtime there were a lot of baby animals to go ga-ga over and cuddle and torture, I mean, love and feed. My kids be-lined it to the kittens straight away.

Funny story: My friend is looking to re-home one of the kittens. I had taken a couple of pictures already with the kids holding the kittens and sent them to Ryan informing him that the kids REALLY wanted a kitten, but couldn't decide which of the two I showed him we should get. He responded with, "both, I guess"!!! Completely shocked that he agreed and didn't reply with an absolute and emphatic "NO!" and thinking he was calling my bluff, I continued the ruse by telling him I'd buy a litter box and food on my way home. An hour or so later, I texted him again to be sure he was OK with us bringing the kittens home. He was hesitant but was still fine with the idea. It was then that I informed him that "I AM TOTALLY JOKING ABOUT THE CAT"!!! It was only then he realized I wasn't serious, at all. HAHAHAHA!!!

Kyra and Joselyn were hardly without a kitten in their arms the entire time. Kyra wants a cat soooooo bad. Griffin, when he wasn't having fun running around and exploring, was also a bit obsessed with the kittens.

Addy was in animal heaven and loved following Morgan, Allie's niece, around the farm looking for goats and other animals to care for.  She enjoyed the goats, going to find the mama goats, feeding the goats, milking the goats, feeding the baby goats, looking for a baby goat that wandered away, and fishing.

Griffin and Addy wanted to fish and Morgan, again, helped them with that. Nothing was biting, but they did get some nibbles.

Brianna just liked being there and just took it all in and wandered around when allowed.

Addy, Kyra, Griffin, and Mom got to milk a goat and we were all successful in getting some milk from the mama goat.

Layla, however, was not too thrilled with milking goats since there was a lot of goat poo around, thus there were a lot of flies around- A.K.A. bees. After some time indoors and some watermelon, she warmed up enough to touch one of the kittens but wanted NOTHING to do with anything with the farm.

We had such a great time. We got to harass play with all the baby animals, milk one of the mama goats, feed a few of the baby goats, eat some watermelon, feed the chickens the rinds of the watermelon, wander to find more goats, fish in the pond, and us moms caught up with the last year or two since we'd seen each other. The kids and I had such a blast on the farm and we are so glad we could go visit. Thank you, Allie, for letting us come play with you guys.
