The Charlie Brown Realtor Group (yes, that is the real name of the president and yes, we know him. He is a member of our church and a really great, nice man) sponsored a Spring Celebration for anyone in the neighborhood at one of our neighborhood parks. I had completely forgotten about it until we drove past it on our way home from dropping Layla off at her birthday party. We were discussing lunch options since we were hungry, and Layla and Ryan weren’t with us, as we drove by. We saw a sign advertising the party and FREE FOOD. We immediately turned into the parking lot!
The kids had a bunch of fun playing on the playground, jumping in the bounce house and building sand castles in the sand volleyball court. Brianna basically hung out in the baby carrier but was able to get out to enjoy the swings.
The Charlie Brown Group provided hot dogs, chips, cotton candy, and bottled water. They also had some celebrity guests that my kids nearly lost their minds over! Batman, Rapunzel, and Anna came to celebrate with us. The kids got pictures with them and Joselyn basically stalked poor Rapunzel and Anna, but they were great sports and never got frustrated with her.
Afterward, we picked up Layla and headed home to wait for daddy to get home from his campout. Layla’s party must have been a success because within ten minutes of getting home she was passed out on the couch, sitting up!
I’m so glad we stopped. Not only did we get a free lunch out of it, but it was a gorgeous day to spend outside playing, running and bouncing.
