We are staying at home for Christmas this year. We are excited to be home for the holidays. But that just means we need to decorate for Christmas. When we head out of town we'll set up the tree and maybe lights outside, but nothing else.
So after Thanksgiving we brought out the boxes of decorations (which apparently got purged last year since they were mostly empty) and the tree. Dad and the kids set it up while mom held a fussy baby. {pictures were taken, but came out very dark despite the flash :( :( }
We didn't get to the ornaments that night and the days kinda got away from us, so the tree sat bare for a few days until the girls took it upon themselves to decorate the tree. Unfortunately the lights hadn't been put on, but they were having so much fun I didn't have the heart to tell them to stop (or rearrange their masterpiece).
So the next day mom worked around the ornaments to string the lights.
(up close) My mom (Grammy McPherson) took on the crazy (according to her) yet wonderful endeavor of making everyone in the family their own stockings. My own grandmother McPherson made my stocking and it's always been so wonderful to think of her when I see it. Anyway, we got baby Jossie's in the mail and we had to hang it up.
Once they were up it hit me that we have a lot of people in our family. So exciting!
