For Christmas Kim asked for a family membership to the Dallas World Aquarium. It's been great to be able to go and see all the animals: birds, reptiles, fish sharks and many others. Each time we go we see something new and are excited to rediscover things we've already found. This trip we took Grammy and Papa McPherson. It was a lot of fun showing them one of our favorite places to visit.
We love seeing the Octopus when it's up and active. This animal is hit or miss when we're there. Sometimes he's swimming around like crazy and others he's MIA.
The big tank with the two manatees is always a big hit with us. They have two manatees in the take along with some turtles and some of the largest fish I've ever seen.
Kyra especially loves looking at the manatees. Last time we went we got there at feeding time and it was fun to watch the diver feed all the animals. They got a bit excited going after the food.
One part of the exhibit is a the Mayan Rain Forest. Complete with Flamingos, tropical birds and fish and a leopard. The girls really love it when the Mayan/Indian dancers come and do their show.
Here we are at the top of the South American Rain Forest. If you look over the ledge you'll see some trees where a few smaller primates live with their new babies. This also overlooks the large aquarium tank. If you look up you can see some birds hanging out in the rafters. These birds have no fear.
