Griffin Gets A Tan- Update

Friday morning Griffin and I ventured to our 4th visit at the doctor's office this week. They needed to do another bilirubin test and the doctor decided to run a few more tests to rule out any other reasons that his levels could be so high. Due to the amount of blood needed to do all of these tests he had to be poked THREE different times between his two heels.

(Can you see the band-aids on both of his poor feet???)

As of Friday afternoon/evening the nurse called with the results and told us that Griffin does not need to be under the lights any more. His test results from that morning indicate that his bilirubin levels are decreasing and his weight check shows that he's re-gaining the weight he lost.

He had another blood test drawn Saturday morning (the nurse actually came to us, so that was nice) and while the decrease in his bilirubin levels wasn't as dramatic once he didn't need to continue under the lights, it did show that it was still decreasing. Yea!!!

(The jammies he's in are newborn size and he's still swimming in them he's so tiny!)

We will find out more at his doctor's appointment on Tuesday. He will have yet another blood test to check his bilirubin and his 2-week new born screening test. So that means more pokes and prods at his poor feet.

Overall he is doing well. He's eating well, sleeping well and is a great cuddler.

Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and well wishes. Love you all!!!
