Snowman Shuffle

"What is the 'Snowman Shuffle'?" you might ask. Well for Ryan it is his first official 10K race (or 6.2 miles).

He was very excited for it. All giddy and ready to run.

It was VERY cold and windy that day. It dropped like 40 degrees over night. But we braved the cold and the wind to go and support our daddy!

We waited patiently in the lodge for the race to finish. It was much too cold, unfortunately, for us to go and cheer Ryan on from the starting line or to wonder about checking out the scenery.

The girls were very good the whole time we were waiting.
Kyra played on her computer and ate a snack.

Addy played with the other toys we brought along and ate her snack.

This is the view we had from where we were. I took it specifically to show the white caps on the lake from all the wind. Every now and a gain you could see splashes and spray from where the waves hit the wall at the edge of the lake.

The finish (and starting) line. They started here, ran half their distance (it was also a 5K race), turned around and returned to finish.

Here is Ryan (he's the guy with the white shirt and blue shorts) as he crossed the finish line. I missed the actual crossing because I was taking care of a the kids, but he's only like 20 feet beyond it.

Here is the picture the photographer took of Ryan as he crossed the finish line.

Here is Ryan sporting his "Snowman Shuffle" shirt, his #27 bib and his medal!!!

He won 3rd place for his age group with a time of 1:02:03!

Well done sweet-heart!!! We are very proud of you!
