Every year we try to make it to the Texas State Fair. The first time we went Kyra was two weeks old. We really like going and enjoying the events and attractions the fair has to offer. This year we were more aware and managed to go when UT and OU (rival colleges that play at the Cotton Bowl--the stadium in the center of the fair grounds--when the fair is in full swing) were not playing.
The weather was almost perfect and the girls were great the whole time.

Ryan and I like going to the car show and seeing all the newest and greatest the car manufacturers have to offer. We decided to go to this area first since we didn't know how the girls would enjoy looking at car after car. To our surprise they LOVED it. They loved getting in each car and pretending to drive.

We ate lunch at the fair. It is truly amazing the variety of food they've found that can be fried. They have the standard funnel cake, of course, but also fried snickers, fried bacan, fried steak. Some was yummy the rest sounded purely gross.

Every year we go on the Merry-Go-Round. It's usually a gentle ride the whole family can go on no matter their ages. The girls enjoyed it at first but as the right kept going and going and got a little fast and the horses kept going up and down, up and down they started getting a little scared. Overall I think they liked it.

We had a few extra tickets due to some incorrect mental math on my part, so we headed over to the kiddy ride area and let Kyra pick a ride or two she wanted to go on. To our surprise her first choice was a caterpillar roller coaster.
Her second was a twerlie, spinny, go in circles ride. Not one of mama's more favorite ride, but it was fun to be able to share that experience with our daredevil girl.

I think they were a little tuckered out after our State Fair adventure. They were asleep before we hit the freeway. They also had little to no nap that day and it was about 4:00.
