Tree Huggers

Ever since the beginning of summer and since Ryan became Scout Master, he has been bugging me to go on a family hike. Now I am the first one to admit that I hate being too hot, sweaty, around nature and basically anything that can be considered "creepy" and/or "crawly."

One weekend I finally relented and we went on a family hike. It was hot and humid, we got sweaty and there were most definitely things of the creepy/crawly nature. But we enjoyed ourselves nonetheless .

Here is Addy getting better acquainted with the local wild-life.
(It's a placard highlighting a specific tree off the path. I'm not really sure which one, they all look the same to me.)

A pretty picture of the path we were on.

Kyra trying to keep Addy from wandering off too far or just being bossy...take your pick! :~)

Here is an example of the creepy-crawly persuasion. A nest of Daddy-Long-Legs...eeewwwwww!

Kyra showing some love for nature.

Addy seemed a little less enthusiastic about getting so close to nature.

Kyra kept finding leaves along the way and showing them to us. At a rest stop and water break she took a photo op to show us her latest find.
