A Snowman Kind of Day

Our weather here in North Texas has been quite unusual this last week or so. For starters a week ago the temperature averaged in the mid to upper 70's all week. On Saturday of last week I think it may have even approached 80 degrees. Sunday it started to cool and Monday evening it started to snow. The next two days it was back up in the upper 60's to 70's. That brings us to yesterday when it was yet again cold enough to snow. And snow it did!!!

We had big, fat, monster sized snow "flakes" falling for nearly an hour.

It really all started around 9:00a.m. when it started to rain, then slush/hail, snow, thunder (yes, thunder), snow some more, slush/hail, rain, snow and keep on snowing throughout the afternoon. It was Hollywood, dooms day worthy. (Didn't help that Ryan and I watched such a movie the night before)

The view from our back yard.

It was definitely cuddle up in a blanket weather (no fires with babies...very dangerous!!!) And cuddle up we did.
Ryan was actually sent home at 1:00 because the weather was going to only get worse throughout the day.

Today is just gorgeous! The sun is shining, the weather is warming and the snow is starting to melt :(. While I personally HATE the snow, it has been fun to watch Kyra get SOOOOOO excited to see it. While the snow is still here I thought it would be fun to take us all outside.
We don't have Kyra sized gloves or mittens so a pair of mom's socks had to do. I think they worked pretty well for the time we were out there.

I even bundled our Addy girl up for the outside fun.

She got a little bored being cooped up in the swing, but a bottle helped her get over that.

Kyra and I made a snowman. Kyra LOOOOVES snowmen. Our neighbors across the street had some inflatable ones for Christmas and she was hooked.

Hugs!

And kisses......no wait!! "Kyra stop eating his eyes!!!"

Kyra helped put the face, buttons, and "arms" on. Mom did a lot of it, but it was fun for both of us. Kyra's finishing touch was the snow-hat! Pretty fancy!
