A Visit From Grammy

Grammy McPherson came to visit us for a few days and I had a plan. I am absolutely horrible about getting pictures, decorations, whatever up on the wall. We've lived in our house nearly 8 months and the only thing on the wall (throughout the whole house) were a few family pictures in the living room that I put up as part of a nesting frenzy before Addy was born and part out of a desire not to get harped on once again about not having any pictures up when family came to town. So here was the plan...to have my mom help me get my home beautified! Here is what we came up with.

This was just in the living room. I went a step further and put up pictures in the guest/Addy's room, hung up Addy's quilt above her crib, put pictures and things in the kitchen and hung a couple pictures in Kyra's room (her quilt was already up).

I really enjoyed having my mom here. It isn't very often that I get to have my mom all to myself. Usually we see my parents in Austin at my sister's (Austin is half the drive, so we usually converge there) or we go to Houston and it's usually a family reunion of sorts with us all there. So it was really nice to have her all to myself.

The kids love their Grammy, especially Kyra. She will knock anyone down that have place themselves between her and her Grammy. She will even go to Grammy over Mama if she is hurt or sad. Addy enjoyed Grammy as well. Addy has not, however, found the true magic of what a Grammy (or any grandparent) is, so she stayed with her Mama most of the time.

The visit was not nearly long enough. I felt like we were just starting to hit our stride when she needed to leave. Oh, well, maybe next time she will be able to stay longer...hint, hint!

I love you mom and thanks for everything!
