He survived! I didn't think it would happen, but he survived! He survived his first over-nighter camp-out with the 11-year old scouts. While their dad's also attended, he survived...only slightly scathed.
Ryan walks in the door and he is the most wonderful thing in the world at that moment. (I like having him home on the weekends and this past Saturday he was on the camp out.) I then take a closer look and he has the most angry looking sunburn I've seen in a long time. I say, "Wow, you're red!!!!!!!!" and then ask, "Why didn't you wear a hat?" His response was "Yeah" and "I don't know."
Then last night, in the glow of the computer as we work on the dreaded budget, I look at his poor sunburned forehead. I notice that his head now seems to have a texture to it. After a closer inspection, a gasp, a pitying look of sympathy, I inform our not so prepared Eagle scout that he was the proud recipient of a 2nd degree sunburn.

This morning reveled more as throughout the evening and morning he would mess with it. After another look of pity and sympathy, I get over myself and grab the camera.
Here is our scathed scouter sporting his burn with honor.
