Quarantine

We are back home now. It's always good to be home. Addy slept the whole way home...thankfully. However, Kyra only slept most of the way. She woke up about half way, where we stopped for a little snack of fries and ice cream (the ice cream was for mom). She fell back to sleep for a while and woke up about 30 minutes from home. She was crying a cry that sounded fake and after all our attempts to give her something to do to bide the time, nothing made her stop. So Ryan and I ignored her, thinking that she just wanted attention and out of her car seat.

Once we got settled at home Kyra was still a bit whiny. We figured out why when she threw up everything she had eaten that day. She was not the first to get sick. Dan, Erin and the kids all suffered from the stomach flu the week of Kyra's Birthday and Evan got sick Sunday morning.

Kyra waited, ever so thankfully, to get sick until we were home and out of the car Sunday night. She would give us little to no warning when she was going to blow. And whenever it came, it landed where she stood or laid. This happened as frequently as every 15 minutes to every couple of hours.

Monday morning I set up a "Sick Bed" on the couch for those who felt they needed to lay down. Kyra was the first to need it.

Addy was next to get sick. She started throwing up Monday morning. She too needed her time on the "Sick Bed."

Kyra has never been one to stay in one spot for long. Here she is laying on the floor watching TV, while Addy sleeps on the couch.

Feeling a little more perky, Addy chills out in the swing. The cover to the swing fell victim to the flu.

Sunday night, after realizing that Erin's family were all healthy over the weekend and how verocious this bug was I told Ryan that if I got sick he was taking the day off. And sure enough I was the next to get sick. Monday evening after a very yummy dinner I prayed that my stomach hurt, not because I was next, but because I had stuffed myself to the gills with our very yummy dinner. This was not to be. By 8:00pm I was getting better acquainted with our toilet and getting less acquainted with our yummy dinner. From then on I was throwing up at least once an hour all night.

Addy still isn't feeling well today. I put her in the Exer-saucer because she seemed to be feeling better. After about 30 minutes I look over at her and see her falling asleep sitting up. If you can fall asleep sitting up you know you are sick.

Kyra seems to be on the mend. She is eating and has more energy. Addy is still feeling a bit under the weather today. I am starting to feel better. I am able to keep small portions of food and drink down with no upsets. However, Ryan has succumb to the illness. As much as he has tried to deny or fight it off he couldn't hide forever.

Hopefully this is a one time deal and we won't be passing it around to each other for weeks on end. Until then we are under a self imposed quarantine. No one in or out until we are all better.
