We spent Kyra's birthday in Austin this year. Apparently the University of Texas and Oklahoma University (huge rival schools) were playing the same weekend as Kyra's birthday. Now this normally wouldn't be a problem except for a few things: 1. The game is played in the Cotton Bowl stadium located in Dallas and 2. My parents were going to drive up to Austin, from Houston, Friday night to spend the night with my sister and 3. They were going to drive north from Austin along with half the city.
So to alleviate as much driving in traffic as possible we packed up and went to Austin. This was good because otherwise Kyra's cousins wouldn't have been able to be at her party.
The kids were fairly well behaved in the car. Kyra did not sleep the entire way down (roughly 3+ hours). Addy slept most of the way, except for the last 30 minutes or so.

Once we got to Austin and stretched our legs a bit and emptied our bladders we were off to Chuck E. Cheese.
Addy seemed to enjoy herself. She was enthralled with all the lights, sounds and activities going on. She even let someone other than her mama hold her so mama could go play too.(PS- this is now close to 2:00p and still no nap!)
