We have had quite the busy day today!!! We started at 10:00 this morning with a stop at "The Room Store." This particular store was the clearance center and what a difference in prices that made. At the regular store you couldn't get a living room set (3-7 pieces) for less than $1500, however, we managed to find a really nice 5-piece set for half that. Here are some pictures of our new couch and tables. (They will be delivered on Wednesday!)
As you know, we bought a King sized mattress last weekend (that will be delivered this Friday). The only problem with buying a new, bigger bed is that we don't have any bedding to fit the mattress. Nor do we have a headboard large enough to go with it. So we ventured out to IKEA to buy a headboard. The headboard we liked was one we have had our eye on getting ever since IKEA came to Dallas.
That was the easy part. The hard part was finding a bedding set that we both liked and that came in a size for King beds. We literally went to every store we could think of that would sell bedding sets. We finally found one we liked at about 8 PM. Now the only question left over is what color to paint our room (and living room). If you have any suggestions we would love to hear them.
Kyra had her 18 month check up this week. She is growing wonderfully and is right on track developmentally. As you read in our last blog or two we have been battling her to keep her diaper on. With that in mind I mentioned it to the doctor and she suggested that we start introducing "THE POTTY." We do not have any expectations that she will be potty-trained by next week, but at least it's a start. While shopping for various things throughout the day we decided that it was time to buy a potty. Kyra hasn't seen it as of right now, but we shall see what happens over the next few months with her interest about going to the potty.
