Here is the update on the house.
We have been house hunting and found a house we really like. It is the same house that we told you about and attached pictures for all to see.
We spent about an hour (bless our realtor for being so patient) looking around again and making sure we still liked the place. We actually had some friends come and take a look also. They bought a house a little over a year ago from the same realtor. We walked around, checked every nook and cranny, and in the end decided that this was the house for us. Our realtor finished getting all the information about the house for us and after we had a chance to look it over, we decided to make an offer. While the original offer was not accepted (we didn't think they would go that low anyway, but it was worth a shot), they did counter offered with a price we figured they would accept in the first place.
We are very close to being home-owners. We accepted the counter-offer and are now in our 7 day conditional period where we get the house inspected and still can get out of it if we need. After this week is over and everything is agreed upon we will then be official home owners. YEA!!! We are hoping to close on February 26th.
We are planning on trying to move by the end of the month. We absolutely hate our apartment due to the ants and cockroaches that seem to be everywhere. We are trying to work through a company called ACORN Housing to get a lower interest rate on our loan. Also, we are working on getting out of our apartment with only a 30 day notice (which is the minimum notice allotted under Texas state law) instead of the absurd 60 day notice they say we have to give them. So, we still have a few hurdles to get through, but we are very optimistic that things will work out.
Love you all!!!
