Sorry everyone for the long time between posts. A lot has been going on, but that is no excuse for not keeping you all updated on what has been going on in our lives, especially when it comes to Kyra.
Here is the dirt:
Ryan-
He is still working at FedEx and loving it. He will be traveling to Memphis, TN in mid-August for a few days to attend a conference. He received and additional calling at church to be the assistant to the Elders Quorum Secretary. His specific responsibility will be to oversee Home Teaching. This will be a daunting task as our ward has a dismal Home Teaching monthly home teaching percentage. However, he knows he is in charge of this for a reason and is up for the challenge.
Kim-
She is staying at home with Kyra and enjoys the time with her. She is unfortunately having to go back to work to complete a paid internship to be fully certified and licensed to practice in the future. She is not too happy about not being at home, since all she wanted to do when she grew up is to be a stay at home mom. However, this too was divined from a higher power as she spent a total of 10 minutes looking for a job and had an interview within an hour of that 10 minutes. She is now finishing up some paperwork for temporary license and certification to start work this August. She is excited about the job. It will be working with the Irving school district. She will have the opportunity to work at a brand new school opening up this fall and another school a few miles away. The speech program is trying to set up a new therapy approach this year and she will be on the front lines of implementing this and other new techniques. She is very excited about this new prospect. The only down side to the new job is that Kyra will have to go to some sort of day care. Now Kim does not like day care's at all, so we are trying to see if anybody in our ward is interested in watching her while Kim works. However, we are willing to leave her with a loving family member or friend if any of you are willing to move to Irving for a year. :~)
Kyra-
Kyra is almost 9 months already (July 5th is her 9 mo. birthday). It is hard to believe that so much time has gone by. She is getting really big and starting to look more like a toddler than a baby. She is "talking" a lot, walking along couches and holding onto a walking toy, and standing on her own for about 3 seconds at a time. Kim has been doing new things with her hair. Her hair has grown so much that Kim is able to put Kyra's hair in two pig-tails (sorry no pictures of this yet) and she tried to gel it today so it would be curly. This worked until she slept and all the gel came undone (sorry also no pictures yet). We are going to get her 9 month pictures taken some time next week, so we should be sending out some to family.
While we don't have pictures of her over the last couple of days, here are some recent pictures.
Love you all,
Ryan, Kim and Kyra
